Hortica came to Balke Brown Transwestern wanting to create a professional office park that would combine nature’s beauty with modern conveniences, technological innovation, and highway access.

BBTW worked with them from the beginning of the project to complete a site selection survey and evaluation.  After reviewing numerous locations, the 115-acre site at Interstate 55 and Illinois Route 143 was selected.  They subsequently served as both the owner’s representative and developer throughout design, construction and completion of the project.

The building is crowned by a greenhouse-style roof with translucent clerestory panels which filter light into a two-story atrium lobby. The interior is designed in an open format with 12 ½ -foot ceiling heights.  The rear of the building overlooks a beautiful terraced garden and three-acre lake surrounded by a walking path.
