Highlands Plaza One
Sometimes it's possible to honor the past while looking toward the future. Balke Brown Associates used an old rollercoaster as the inspiration for the architecture of their $25 million, Class A Highlands Plaza One building. The site of the building is a St. Louis landmark, having first been a part of the 1904 World's Fair, then as part of the Highlands Amusement Park and the home of the St. Louis Arena. BBA wanted to honor the history of the site while breathing new life into the area. The 26-acre, mixed-use campus is prominently located on I-64 in St. Louis. It offers an excellent solution for corporations seeking a centrally-located signature office environment with convenient and direct interstate accessibility and free structured parking. When completed, the Highlands will contain 1 million square feet of office space, loft-style apartments, a six-story hotel and new restaurant facility.
