Don has a unique ability to develop relationships as well as real estate, constantly working to bring people together to create unique and successful new properties. He does this by promoting a win-win atmosphere when structuring BBA's deals, with the ultimate goal of building interdependent teams and creating extraordinary developments. Don leads BBA's development of all office and industrial properties in Missouri and Illinois.
Some of Don's career highlights include:
- Developed and leased St. Louis Commerce Center, a 20-acre, 487,000 square foot distribution center in downtown St. Louis; the project received the EPA's Phoenix Award for Brownfield Redevelopment in 2002
- Developed and leased Fountain Lakes Commerce Center in St. Charles, MO; BBA built four buildings containing a total of 1.3 million square feet of distribution space on 52 acres since 1999
- Developed and leased much of St. Louis' premier suburban office park, Maryville Centre, during an 11 year career at Baur Properties; at the time of Don's transition to BBA, the project contained 1.2 million square feet of Class A office space and was 100% leased
- Recognized as one of the St. Louis Business Journal's Heavy Hitters in Commercial Real Estate in 1998 and as one of the 40 Business Leaders Under 40 in 2001
- Enjoys working on Habitat for Humanity project year after year and is active with the St. Louis Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR)
- Don joined Balke Brown in 1998 and became a Principal of the firm in January, 2004.
